These are different methods by which the body is molded and manipulated to achieve the desired beauty, body or health goals as desired by a client and that it’s also aesthetically pleasing to that same client.
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF BODY CONTOURING?
There are 2 major ways this can be achieved;
1----The surgical (invasive) route and
2----The non-surgical (non-invasive) route
-------The surgical way can and should only be performed by a surgeon.
-------The non -surgical route is what is popularly referred to as body sculpting or body contouring and the practitioners are called body sculpting specialist or body contouring professionals
WHAT IS NON- SURGICAL (NON-INVASIVE) BODY SCULPTING?
There are 2 types; they both utilize Lipolysis, which is a fat-eliminating process
1----COOLSCULPTING ----uses cold to freeze fat (cryolipolysis)
2----HEATSCULPTING-----uses heat to melt fat. (heatlipolysis)
Both CoolSculpting and Heat-Sculpting are treatments that are non-surgical, non-invasive, and effectively breakdown subcutaneous fat. Both treatments have also been cleared by the FDA and recognized to be much safer than invasive procedures. Out of the two, Heat-Sculpting is fast becoming the treatment of choice for many people because it barely has any side effects. It can be cheaper because of less sessions but both methods are effective
HEAT SCULPTING VS COOLSCULPTING. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
Heat Sculpting and CoolSculpting treatments are two of the most popular procedures for eliminating unwanted, stubborn adipose tissue (fat cells) in areas around the abdomen, love handles, thighs, back, chin, arms. The removal of these fat cells will alter the shape of the human form and allow effective sculpting or contouring of the body into a more desired body shape.
Both procedures are non-invasive or non-surgical, meaning that they do not require incisions, anesthesia, or any kind of lifestyle downtime.
Both procedures work similarly, with only some minor differences. The results for both methods are best seen after eight weeks and can be equally as effective at killing the fat cells depending on how your body responds to heat or cold and most importantly how your lymphatic system drain or is compromised by health conditions and predispositions.
With both CoolSculpting as well as with Warm Sculpting, one session is more than enough to notice some impressive improvements in your appearance in some cases. Most visible results are seen after a minimum of 6 sessions for most and others need longer. Again, one size does not fit all
Both heat and cold sculpting are age old techniques employed by ancient cultures in the pursuit and enhancement of beauty, cosmetics, aesthetics, anti-aging, health and wellness lifestyles.
They are quite popular in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Caribbean islands and most recently in the south of the United States
It is a billion- dollar industry and the popularity has seen a rise since the advent of social media and reality tv stars and celebrities who have openly attributed their “new bodies” to body sculpting.
The aversion to surgery, the pain, downtime etc has also made it very popular. People also are attracted to the “ease” of achieving results with non-invasive body sculpting because frankly the idea of rigorous and time-consuming gym life is daunting and discouraging because results sometimes just do not match efforts put in.
WHAT IS HEATSCULPTING?-
It is the utilization of a combination of many tools and devices that is predominantly-laser-based for non-invasive treatment that’s used to target and reduce or eliminate fat. It works for both men and women and on a variety of body types. One procedure takes an average of 25-45 minutes and can target multiple areas at once.
Noninvasive, nonsurgical cosmetic body procedures are becoming increasingly popular, especially to help with fat reduction. Nonsurgical procedures require no incisions or anesthesia. This can mean there’s minimal discomfort, a quick procedure time, and little to no recovery time.
COMMON TREATED AREAS:
upper abdominal area
lower abdominal area
flanks
chin
upper back
thighs
upper arms
WHO CAN USE NON- INVASIVE PROCEDURES LIKE HEATSCULPTING?
--New moms
--People on a weight loss journey
--People with lose skin
--Athletes
--Brides and Grooms
--Active individuals who cannot seem to get rid of pockets of stubborn fat in different parts of their body
It should also be noted, that these procedures are not intended as a weight loss option. They are usually not the best treatment option for people with obesity.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST??
The cost varies based on the number of sessions, the treatments received, the different areas of the body that is treated as well as where you live.
The average cost of a nonsurgical fat reduction session is anywhere between $200-$500. Again, there are a lot of variables that inform the price. Usually, service packages and monthly membership subscriptions are offered for better pricing and affordability
Some offices offer incentives and payment plans. GlamCare offer incentives and payment plans
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A VISIT?
When discussing the procedure with your practitioner, you should communicate which areas of your body you’re interested in treating. The practitioner will tell you how many sessions you might need to reach your goals.
The first consultation often takes place right before the treatment, but sometimes you will have to schedule a separate appointment.
Be prepared to discuss your medical history and what medications you’re currently on. To minimize the chance of bruising, you might be told to avoid blood thinners and painkillers such as Ibuprofen or aspirin a few days before you plan to have a treatment done. You should also feel free to ask as many questions that you have before during and even after you start your sessions. Treat it like a visit to your doctor or your attorney. The more open and forthcoming you are about your health history and concerns the better your expectations can be addressed and managed effectively
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION/ TREATMENT
At your appointment, you will be seated in a comfortable, reclined position (usually a massage table). The licensed practitioner will mark the treatment areas on your body.
Each treatment takes about 25-45 minutes, depending on your treatment plan
During the procedure, you can relax, read, or nap. Most clients actually sleep off. That’s how relaxing and painless it is
During the 12 weeks after the procedure, your body’s lymphatic system naturally flushes out the eliminated fat cells. If you need additional treatments to reach your desired results, they can be done 6-12 weeks or more after the first treatment. Every treatment plan is client -centric or client-specific
WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS?
The heating phases during treatment may cause some minor pinching or a tingling sensation, but no numbing agent or anesthesia is necessary. There is usually no pain.
Few serious side effects have been reported
After treatment, you may experience some soreness and stiffness. You may also experience bruising in the treated areas. Your practitioner may recommend that you massage the firm areas during the weeks after the procedure.
RESULTS AND RECOVERY.
Average time of treatment with a non-invasive device can be 25 minutes-35 minutes A session can however be 30mins-2hours and it is noninvasive with little to no recovery time. This means that you could feasibly have a treatment done on your lunch break and return to regular work immediately.
As your body metabolizes the eliminated fat cells, fat reduction may be noticeable in as few as six weeks after one treatment. (there have been instant results attained by certain clients)
On average, one session can result in a 30% reduction of fat in the treated area. Full results are normally seen 12 weeks after the initial treatment. Because the cells eliminated during the procedure are destroyed with laser, these cells won’t regenerate. They are dead. They won’t come back!
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? NON-SURGICAL VS SURGICAL
--Less expensive
--Low to No side effects
--No downtime
--No infectionz
--No complications
DOES IT LAST?
This is an interesting question that gets asked all the time. Does the results last? A good way I have found effective to answer this, is to also ask a very important question people should be asking; does surgery last?
Simple answer; NO
Your surgery result is as good as you let it. Your surgeon tells you to maintain your results by changing your lifestyle habits, to exercise and eat right
Well, non- surgical requirements are no different. You have to make an effort to maintain your results. You do not go to the gym for 2 weeks and expect the results to last a year!
Body sculpting & non-surgical treatments and procedures are not magic neither is surgery J
